    Text In the name of God Amen third day of April, 1589, I, thomas Yoe of the parishe of Pawlet in the cuunty of Somerset and of the dioceses of Bath and Welles, husbandman, being sicke in bodie but of good and perfect remembrance do make and ordain my laste will and testament in manner and forme followinge. First I commende my soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried in the church yarde of Pawlett aforesayed. Item I give to the catheldral church of Welles four pence. Item I give to the parish church of Pawlett twelve pence. Item I give to Ellinor my wife my beste feather bolster, my best feather bed, my best payer of sheets, my best coverlett, my best feather pillows, one brasse pot yt she brought with her, my best brasse pot, same one. One cowe called Colley/one bay mare that is great withe ffoale/one platter/one podinge/one sanorey?/ one cadel sticke and my best barrell. Item I give unto the said Elinor my wife the best two acres of barley, the best two acres of beanes, the best wheate now in my Barton. All my barlie that is left after sowing tyme and all the malte now in my house towardes the finding of her and her children. Item I give to my sonne George Yoe one mare called 'Crooked Legge', one cowe called 'Wensse'/ my beste brasse pott, my beste yearling, one featherbed & bolster that came from Puriton, a brasse possinett, one platter & one podinger, one sawcer and candlestick. Item my will is that myne overseers withnamed shall lett and sell the legacy given to my said sonne George to augmente and invest yt to his best use and practice. Item I give to my daughter Susanna Yoe in money ten pounds and one heiffer yearlinge. Item my will is that mine overseers within named shall lett & sett the said ten pounds given to my said daughter Susanne Yoe to her beste use and proffit. Provided that Ellinor my wife shall have the said tenne pounds at the handes of myne overseers so that she do give Sufficient assurance to my said overseers that my said daughter Susanna may have her full legacy with interest thereof when she comethe to full age or at the daye of her marriage. Item my will is that if any of my fist children viz George Yoe and Susanna Yoe dye before they come to yeares of descretion or before the daye of their marriage then his or her legacy so deceased shall remayne to the survivors of the children which I have by my said wife Ellinor equally to be divided between them. Item I give to the chlde that my wife now goethe with all which is not yet in beynge fower pounds in money so that is if it lives but if dye then my will is that the said fower pounds in money so given shall remayne wholley to Ellinor my wife. Item I give to my sonne John Yeo one platter. Item I give to my daughter Margaret Clements one platter. Item I give to my sister Johane Yeo one platter. All the rest of my goods, cattell & chattells not given nor bequeathed (my debts being paid) I give and bequeath to Bartholomew Yoe my son whome I make my full and sole executor. Item my will is that my wife Ellinor shall give sufficient assurance to my said overseers to .... ... the fulle somme of myne ever portion when he cometh to full age and to have the rest of it and the bringing up of the said Bartholomew Yoe, witnessed thereof George Franklyn, John Williams the elder and William Gillett. Overseers to this my last will and testament I appoint John Williams of Pawlett, farmer and John Kinge of Chilton, my brother in law. Debts which the said Thomas Yeo owed at the making of this will, he oweth to his sister, Johane Yeo, seven pounds three shillings and four pence. Probate granted to Bartholomew Yeo, son, after the death of Elinor in 1627.
