Loading... HULL MAN’S BUNGALOW BURNED OUT
A Hull man’s seaside bungalow was completely burned out overnight at Filey. When the alarm was given it was impossible to do anything, the whole building being a blazing inferno. The flames could be seen all over the district.
The owner of the bungalow was Mr W. B. Whitmore, of Putman-road, Hull.
The outbreak was discovered by P.C. Oliver, who rushed to see if there was anyone in the bungalow.
Filey Fire Brigade raced to the scene. In its dash, Mr W. Langdale, the brigade captain, was flung off the engine and narrowly missed being run over.
The bungalow was reduced to a small pile of ashes.
