Inventar[ium] exhibitum extendit ad summam — [xxxix li viij s] Translation: The 26th day of July [1608]. The testament of Nicholas Burton, late of Eastbourne, deceased, was proved before Master William [—], clerk, MA, surrogate, etc., by the oath of Thomas Burton, the natural and lawful son of the said deceased and one of the executors. To whom administration of the goods was committed, sworn to administer well and faithfully in due form of law. Saving and reserving like power to Constance Burton, relict of the said deceased and the other executrix, when she shall come to seek it. The inventory exhibited amounts to [about £39 8s]. [8]
