In 1894 the Rev E C Price writes in a Bible Presented "To Mr and Mrs Pechell as a token of Sincere Regards and affection and in Remembrance of ardious and unwearied work done heartily to the Lord in the Parish of Christ Church Battersea by Mr Pechell among the youn in the Sunday School, the Weekly Bible Class, and the Band of Hope. by Mrs Pechell as Bible Mission Woman, among the Poor, the Sick, and the afflicted." in 1893 the Rev J Christy, the Chaplin of Savona Missions to Seamen writes, "I take this opportunity to expressing the Complete Confidence by the Scripture Reader Mr Pechell, among Officers and Seamen and the members of our Committee through his Personal Geniality and perfect Familiarity with the ways of Seamen and most thankfully am i to state that the Ship masters have rallied round the Reader in a true Christian Spirit and are doing everything they can to encourage him in his single handed work".
